YTKits records material corrections that change the meaning, evidence or limitations of an article or policy. Minor spelling, formatting and accessibility edits may be made without an entry here.

October 30, 2026 - Consent and AdSense disclosure

Pages updated: Cookie Policy and Privacy Policy.

Changes made:

  • Clarified that Google Analytics is enabled by default and that visitors can turn it off for their browser.
  • Clarified that the Google AdSense script is loaded for publisher verification, while ads are not served until Google approves the site and the required advertising consent is configured.
  • Added a "Cookie settings" control in the footer so visitors can reopen the analytics choice.

Reason: The policies should match the consent banner and the scripts loaded by the site.

September 20, 2026 — Privacy and About pages

Pages updated: Privacy Policy and About YTKits.

Changes made:

  • Replaced an outdated Vercel reference with the current Hetzner hosting provider.
  • Clarified that the YTKits consent banner controls optional Google Analytics.
  • Clarified that advertising consent is handled separately through Google's certified consent process where required.
  • Removed broad statements about tracking and replaced them with descriptions of the technologies actually used.
  • Removed fixed retention and response-time promises that were not tied to a documented operational process.
  • Updated descriptions of the public tools so they do not imply access to private YouTube analytics.

Reason: The policy and About page should match the services, scripts and hosting currently used by YTKits.

September 20, 2026 — Creator guides and tool methodology

Articles updated: Channel strategy case study, thumbnail workflow, analytics workflow, niche testing, revenue calculator methodology, RPM versus CPM, and category RPM assumptions.

Changes made:

  • Removed unsupported universal percentages and algorithm claims.
  • Labeled illustrations separately from real screenshots and measured results.
  • Separated personal experience, public API fields, calculated estimates and official YouTube rules.
  • Added evidence and limitation sections.
  • Reframed revenue output as a conditional scenario instead of verified earnings.
  • Linked the 2027 YPP update directly to YouTube's official documentation.

Reason: Readers should be able to understand where each claim comes from and what the available evidence cannot establish.

October 5, 2026 — Tool reliability and estimate terminology

Pages and articles updated: Video comparison tool, handle lookup, category benchmarks and related guides.

Changes made:

  • Removed unsupported category benchmark tables.
  • Clarified that handle lookup cannot guarantee reservability.
  • Removed modeled private retention and watch-time metrics from the video comparison interface.

Reason: Tool guides and policy text should share their source with the generated HTML. These corrections do not change YouTube's own policies or establish the cause of an AdSense decision.

How corrections are handled

A material correction normally includes:

  1. The page or article affected.
  2. A description of the corrected or clarified information.
  3. The reason for the change.
  4. An updated date on the affected page.

YTKits does not remove a correction merely because it is unfavorable. If an article relies on an estimate or personal observation, later updates should preserve that distinction.
